Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning was so fun this year! We read the Nativity in our bed with the kids before we walked out. I hope we can make that a tradition! Genivieve was so excited and her joy made the whole experience so much fun. Luke had a blast with the wrapping paper and all of the toys. It was a simple sweet morning that was just perfect.

Pre Christmas Fun

This was Dieter's first Christmas and a very special one. The spirit of the season was strong as we focused on our Savior and His birth. We read many stories and started teaching Genivieve Christmas songs right after Halloween to ensure she would know a few in time. "Angles We Have Heard On High" quickly became a regular in our evening scripture study and singing. We visited the Temple lights at the Mesa Temple a few times. I was so overcome by emotion one late night as we stood on the empty grounds, under the bright star, and once again told of His Birth and I could see that Genivieve understood. I am so thankful for my testimony of our Savior and that we can celebrate this wonderful season with so much Family time.

Grandma Kerri and Auntie Hannah came over for presents and Christmas fun. They always spoil the kids. It was too fun watching them just open the gifts and play with the paper.

Next we went to Celebrate with the Grandpa Chesley, Luhanna, Great-Grandma and Aunts and Uncles. We had a great meal and played family Mad Lib and guessed how many M&M's are in the jar. Brent won again, too fun!

A week of Christmas

Christmas this year turned out to be great thanks to both of our families. It was a busy week with my cousin getting married out of town on the 21st, Christmas Sunday and Christmas with Brent's Mom and younger sister. Then Christmas Eve with Brent's Dad and Step-mom, Christmas morning with us three (which turned out to be rather low-key and dare I say boring) fallowed by dinner at my sisters house. Then Friday my two out-of-town sisters arrived and it was go-cart-racing and cousin playing fallowed by George Family Christmas on Saturday and everyone spending the night at my parents for an 8am blessing Sunday morning for my new nephew Duncan. Whew! Did you Catch all that? I am tired just recapping the week. Lots and lots of family time. Christmas may have lasted a week but what a fun week to spend with family, it was a rare treat and a very loud one with 9 soon to be 11 grand kids on my side.

It was nice not to be sick this year for Christmas, but being 32 weeks pregnant didn't give me much motivation. Oh well. Next year we will have to do more preparation. I'm sure having two kids and an almost three-year-old will make it much more lively!
